Our Mission and Vision
ArtsVote Ohio inspires and supports Ohio’s creative sector to participate in democracy. We provide Ohio’s creatives with the resources and know-how to encourage a strong voter turnout and engagement in the legislative process.
We envision a creative sector in Ohio that fully recognizes its influence, embraces the right to vote, and uses its collective voice to shape the future of our state and nation.

We are at the forefront of positive change
Ohio’s artists and creatives are problem solvers and advocates at our core.
We represent our communities
Ohio’s artists and creatives tell the stories of Ohio’s people—from rural to urban—through our endless mediums. We are at the ground level of representation of our communities.

We drive Ohio’s economy
Ohio’s artists and creatives are more than 157,000 strong and the economic output of the creative sector represents more than 3% of the state’s GDP. Our buying power is strong and our voting power is even stronger.
WE MEAN BUSINESS
Ohio’s artists and creatives are business owners, employers, and taxpayers. We’re leaders in our culture and communities.

WE CAN INFLUENCE ARTS FUNDING AND SUPPORT
At national, state, and local levels, those we vote into office impact the policies and funding that support our careers and our culture. Elected officials who prioritize arts and humanities can ensure that resources are allocated to support Ohio’s local artists, cultural institutions, and creative projects.
WE CARE ABOUT THE FUTURE
From the environment and education, to healthcare and social services, Ohio’s artists and creatives have causes we care about, and the people we elect can ensure that our voices are heard.

WE'VE MADE AN IMPACT BEFORE, AND WE'LL DO IT AGAIN
Since the 1960s, social practice has seen artists creating art with communities, not just for them. Ohio's artists expand the definition of what it means to be an artist—acting as facilitators, collaborators, community organizers, and connectors. We use our work to foster dialogue, inspire change, and address social issues.
