The Ohio Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial (AM250-OH) will make funds available for grants to non-profit, educational, and local governmental organizations to support educational and commemorative programming about the two-hundred-fiftieth anniversary of the independence and founding of the United States. The purpose of this grant program is to draw attention to the achievements, struggles, honors, innovations, and significance of all people in Ohio since before its founding to the present day as described in Ohio Revised Code SECT. 149.309 and Resolution 2023 – 09 adopted by the Ohio Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial.

The AM250-OH Commission has identified the following themes for Ohio’s Celebration and Commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the U.S.

  • Ohio Originals: Highlighting Points of Pride & Unity

The National Endowment for the Arts invites applicants to engage with its five-year research agenda (as part of the NEA FY2022-2026 Strategic Plan, Objective 3.2) through the agency’s Research Grants in the Arts program:

Research Grants in the Arts funds research studies that investigate the value and/or impact of the arts, either as individual components of the U.S. arts ecosystem or as they interact with each other and/or with other domains of American life. Matching/cost share grants of $20,000 to $100,000 will be awarded.

Known for presenting an eclectic mix of short films—from documentary, animation, and dramatic narrative to anything in between—Ohio Shorts is back again! This year’s edition will be curated by Ohio-based filmmaker/animator and Ohio Shorts alum Lindsey Martin, whose work has screened nationally and internationally including at the Slamdance Film Festival, the Athens International Film and Video Festival, and the Anchorage International Film Festival.

We welcome and encourage submissions from all ages and experience levels. Works that are included in the program will receive a $50 screening fee and be eligible for the $500 Jury Award, selected by Lindsey Martin, and the $300 Audience Choice Award, determined by audience voting.

The All-Ohio State Fair Band and All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir Application

The All-Ohio State Fair Band and All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir feature the talents of high school instrumentalists and vocalists from more than 125 high schools across nearly 60 of Ohio’s 88 counties. Members are traditionally chosen through an online application and recommendation process that takes place between February 1 and March 31.

Each summer, members convene for rehearsals at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fair just days before the opening of the Fair and they go on to perform close to 90 concerts for several hundred thousand fairgoers. The ensembles’ distinguished and experienced staff is comprised of musicians and educators who strive to provide outstanding direction and supervision to each member. During their stay at the Ohio State Fair, members work with peers who share similar interests who develop friendships that last a lifetime. This experience is unique to Ohio as we are the only state fair in the country to present such an opportunity to our youth.
