Columbus, Ohio — In June the CreativeOhio Board of Directors voted to add two new board members to its 26-person board, composed of arts leaders and advocates throughout the state. CreativeOhio (formerly Ohio Citizens for the Arts) is a statewide advocacy organization with a mission to enrich Ohio’s communities, citizens, and culture through constant advocacy and relentless support of Ohio creatives and the creative economy.

“I’m pleased to welcome Brent Osborn and Chad Stearns to our Board,” said Executive Director & CEO, Sarah Sisser. “With their collective experience as community leaders, creatives, and advocates, Chad and Brent will add additional depth in representation to our organization. I look forward to having their insights at the table as we continue to pursue public investment and policies to benefit arts and culture in our state.”

As a consultant and strategist, Brent Osborn carries a natural passion for catalyzing growth and facilitating transformative change. Brent’s journey in fostering leadership and driving impactful change began early in his career, where he led a local Columbus-based small business. This experience then laid the foundation for his commitment to empowering individuals and teams in a startup software and technology services company. 

A native of northwest Ohio and a graduate of The Ohio State University, Brent’s career rooted him in Columbus where he co-founded Off Square One in early 2020. Drawing on his diverse experiences, creativity, and unwavering dedication, Brent specializes in orchestrating facilitated workshops, offsites, and retreats that empower businesses, teams, and individuals to achieve their full potential. When engaging with clients, Brent’s mission is clear: to align people, processes, and products/services, guiding clients toward their ideal future. With a mix of art and science, Brent uses his enthusiasm, insights, and drive to guide his management consulting clients on their transformative journeys toward organizational excellence and lasting success. 

Brent resides in the charming historic downtown of Delaware, Ohio and enjoys finding the best of travel, dining, leisure, retail, arts, community, and creative experiences during his free time. Brent has completed a number of impromptu international trips with less than 24 hours of planning and booking to keep the experience as exciting and adventurous as possible!

Chad Stearns was raised on a farm in rural Sandusky County, Ohio. He graduated with a degree in Music Education from Bluffton University and taught instrumental music at Waynesfield-Goshen schools in Auglaize County for three years. Chad moved to New York City in 2003 to pursue a career in musical theater as a musician. Chad played keyboards on tours of Cameron Mackintosh’s Oliver!, Oklahoma!, Hairspray and served as the music director of the Avenue Q tour in 2010-2011. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, China and Japan in his eight  years of touring.

In 2011, Chad moved back to Ohio to start Modo Media in Downtown Lima with his friend and business partner Cody Ridenour. Together, they shared a vision to bring beautiful designs to the Lima Region. Modo Media has grown to become a creative engine that businesses and organizations turn to for campaigns, marketing strategies, website design, graphic design, and video production. Modo Media has also been successful at passing numerous levy campaigns across the state of Ohio for Mental Health Boards, school levies and candidates running for local and state-wide offices.

In 2016, Chad started a local theater company, Octopus Productions with Christine O’Neill and Shannon Wannemacher. Their premiere show, Cabaret played to three sold out performances at the historic Ohio Theatre in Downtown Lima. The show was then transferred to the Crouse Performance Hall stage at the Lima Civic Center for the 2016-2017 Broadway Season. Since then, Octopus Productions has produced the musicals Next to Normal, Sweet Charity, Too Darn Hot, an early-Broadway music revue written and music arranged by Chad. Modo Media collaborated with the Lima Symphony Orchestra in 2022 to bring a Sondheim Revue, A Little Sondheim Music to life at the historic Jameson Manor lawn.

Chad currently serves as Vice President on the board for Downtown Lima, Inc. and serves on the Lima Symphony Board.
