CreativeOhio’s 2024 Economic Impact Report highlights the $32.9 billion annual contribution of Ohio’s creative sector, supporting 132,000+ jobs and generating $923 million in tax revenue. Use this data to advocate for funding, engage stakeholders, and showcase the arts as a key driver of Ohio’s economy.

One of the most important things CreativeOhio does for our members is provide data-driven proof of the creative sector’s economic power—and our newly released 2024 Economic Impact Report does just that. The findings are clear: Ohio’s creative sector is a major economic force, directly contributing $32.9 billion annually, supporting over 132,000 jobs, and driving $923 million in state and local tax revenue. When factoring in indirect and induced impacts, that number grows to $63.3 billion and nearly 292,000 jobs.
We conduct these studies every two to three years to provide up-to-date, Ohio-specific data that helps members advocate for funding, demonstrate economic impact to stakeholders, and make the case for increased investment in arts and culture. The report proves what we already know—supporting the arts is not just good policy, it’s good business.
“Ohio is the Heart of Creativity! Whether it’s catching a Broadway show, exploring world-class museums, rocking out at music festivals, or experiencing the public art that brings our streets to life, creativity is everywhere in the Buckeye State,” said Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik. “The arts draw visitors, fuel small businesses, and strengthen our communities, making Ohio an even more vibrant place to live, work, and explore.”
