The inaugural CreativeOhio Advocacy Leadership Institute (ALI) is made up of 25 arts and culture leaders from 15 Ohio cities. Over six months, they’ll gain advocacy skills through workshops, site visits, and policy discussions. Meet the 2025 cohort and see how they’re shaping Ohio’s creative future!

CreativeOhio is proud to introduce the 2025 cohort of the CreativeOhio Advocacy Leadership Institute (ALI)—a groundbreaking initiative designed to equip arts and culture leaders across Ohio with the tools and knowledge to advocate for the creative sector. This inaugural class of 25 leaders, representing 15 cities across the state, was selected through a competitive application process.
Launching in May 2025, ALI is a six-month immersive program that provides participants with hands-on workshops, site visits to cultural hubs, and in-depth discussions on legislative processes, public funding, and advocacy strategies. The program aims to build a network of informed, engaged leaders who will champion Ohio’s creative economy at the local, state, and national levels.
Meet the 2025 ALI Cohort
The 2025 ALI cohort includes professionals from a wide range of disciplines – including performing arts, visual arts, media, museums, arts education, and cultural advocacy – reflecting the breadth and diversity of Ohio’s creative sector.
We invite you to view the full cohort here to learn more about the individuals shaping the future of arts advocacy in Ohio.
“This inaugural cohort represents an esteemed and passionate group of leaders dedicated to strengthening Ohio’s creative economy and ensuring the arts have a seat at the table in policy discussions,” said Sarah Sisser, Executive Director & CEO of CreativeOhio.
Throughout the program, ALI members will collaborate with policymakers, industry experts, and fellow arts leaders to develop strategies that support the sustainability and growth of Ohio’s creative industries. This initiative is made possible with support from The George Gund Foundation, Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Greater Columbus Arts Council, and Edwards Companies.
CreativeOhio will continue to provide updates as we follow the cohort’s journey and highlight the impact of their advocacy work.
